Christian NFL Star’s Tweet Went Viral After He Called Out America’s Double Standard on Prayer

This Christian NFL Star’s Tweet Went Viral After He Called Out America’s Double Standard on Prayer

So it’s fine for us to pray for Paris, but we suspend a football coach for praying after a game?

When the horrific terrorist attack struck Paris, nearly 140 people died, and over 70 million people from around the world took to social media to encourage prayer for Paris.
In fact, #PrayForParis was the top trending hashtag of the weekend.
What’s interesting is that in times of great distress, dire need, or world tragedy, prayer seems to be the natural go-to for a country that identifies as nearly 80% Christian.
However, when prayer is made public for everyday circumstances, like in schools or on a football field, suddenly there’s a problem—as NFL star Benjamin Watson pointed out:

The Christian tight end for the New Orleans Saints was referencing coach Joe Kennedy in his statement, who was suspended from his position as coach for his post-game tradition of praying at the 50 yard line.
The social media post has been shared over 75,000 times since Watson wrote it on Monday.

His bold statement sure draws attention to the state of fair-weather Christianity our world seems to be gravitating towards. Today’s society is increasingly ready to come to God in extreme circumstances when we actually “need” Him, but outside of that, we tend to shut him out.
Natural disasters, terrorist attacks, and terminal illness apparently all warrant unified public prayer. But somehow pointing to God after a touchdown or praying with your team warrants a swift kick out of the game, or out of a job.
It’s about time we do away with the double standard. If we truly believe that our God is mighty enough to save the tragedy of Paris, how much more should He be the object of praise for every good thing and the source of prayer for every need—not just the ones we think we can’t handle…

What Religion are you?

What Religion are you?
1) Muslim
2) Buddhist
3) Hindu ...
4) Christian
5) None of the above

5 - None of the above

What religion or denomination was there in the garden of Eden? There was none. There was just a relationship between The Creator and His creation Adam and Eve. When Adam and Eve sinned it disconnected communication with the Creator. It broke up a relationship not a religion.
Jesus died to restore a broken relationship between The creator and His Creation. Not to restore a religion or denomination.
Religion came from man and not from God.
Jesus was not apart of any religion nor was he taught by a religious rabbi or teacher.
The people were surprised when they heard him. “How does he know so much when he hasn’t been trained?” they asked.
John 7:15 (NLT)
Jesus biggest opposition was organized religion. I.e. the pharisees, saudecees, scribes and other religious leaders of His time.
It's about relationship.

The Last Days

2 Timothy 3King James Version (KJV)
This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men, as their's also was.
10 But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience,
11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.
12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

God Is!!!!!

God is going to move with or without you! If you don't want to give him the glory someone else will. Don't fear what God has put in someone else's heart. You just continue to move the away he is allowing you to. Godfearing leaders should not be intimidated by Godfearing leaders because you are not leading for your glory your are doing it for the Glory of God! I don't care if souls are saved in jail, the grocery store, Dollar store, in church, by me or you! I just want them saved! Embrace and support others like you for doing what God has called them to do! God has enough room for us all because he is in charge of the building plans!!!
Be blessed and embrace!

Temptation

How do you fight temptation? Prepare yourself before the temptation occurs. It's inevitable, as soon as you leave your house every day your going to be tempted by something or someone so you have to prepare your mind before leaving your home. Prepare yourself by studying the word and mediating on scriptures that focus on temptation, spending time in prayer and worship to keep your heart softened and fixed towards Jesus. The spirit is indeed willing but the flesh is weak. The less you build your spirit up through studying the word and prayer the more your flesh is going to be in control. In Matthew Ch. 4 Jesus was tempted 3 different times, each time he responded back to Satan with a scripture to overcome the temptation. If you don't have the word in you how can you fight temptation back? We will be tempted to sin as long as we are in the flesh but know through the power of the Holy Spirit you don't have to continue to be defeated. Rely on his strength to see you through. Love you all whoever is reading this. ‪#‎praying4you‬... Hebrew 4.15-16.nlt This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.

Sitting cross the isle

Just a few days ago, she was sitting across the isle smiling and talking. How short is life? How much time do you have. Whether 9 or 90 years, there is only so much time you have here. Yes, your life is predestined but you still only have so much time to accomplish whatever you are going to accomplish. The saying is there is as many short caskets as there are long. Focus my people so your life here can be prosperous and you will have a home in the kingdom.

Romans 14:8 - For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

Gluttony

Sometimes I wonder if church folk realize that the love for food is really an addiction & defiling to the temple of God just like the addiction to sex, drugs, alcohol & money, etc? Oh nobody wants to talk about that...there's a lot overweight Christians (including myself) but I've never heard a preacher teach on gluttony! Always on the drug attics, alcoholics, whoremongers, etc. SMH...I've honestly been praying & asking God to help me live a healthier lifestyle & stop defiling his temple bc I like food too! Lol ...but so serious ‪#‎mythoughts‬
feeling perplexed.

"When Death Grips A Family"

My post this week is involving the national hurt we're feeling for the nine lives lost in Charlotte, North Carolina. One thing we all agree on is death is something we all got to do. No way to get around it, yet when it strikes, it touches our inner soul. I am proud to say the bereaved handle it so well. They all came forth and told the victim they forgive him. This is what God requires of Christian. I will be praying with and for the families!!!!!!!!

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

Psalm 27:1
27 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
